What We Are All About

Toxic Elite is a volunteer run cheerleading club committed to being an inclusive program offering both pre-competitive (novice or prep) and competitive (all-star) teams at various skill levels. This allows for varying levels of commitment, season length, and number of performances in a season. We are also proud to offer a Cheer Abilities team that allows for athletes of all ages and ability levels to experience and excel at this amazing sport

Hi,I'm Debbie Schultz, owner and coach of Toxic Elite Cheerleading. I have worked for over 25 years as a Physical Therapist Assistant for AHS but my true passion is coaching cheer. I love to watch as athletes learn the sport and unlock their confidence and self esteem at the same time. I have been a coach for 13 years, 10 with Stingerz and now my third season with Toxic. My biggest goal is to have a cheer gym that allows anyone who wants to cheer, a place to cheer. I am so excited to have an amazing group of coaches alongside me this season, all who share the same vision and passion.

Hi, I am Dakota Darbyson, I am a proud registered nurse in the MHRH NICU, and a current coach with Toxic Elite Cheerleading. I found my love for cheer in middle school and have been hooked for the past 13 years. I have cheered with St.Mary’s, McCoy, and Stingerz before Toxic Elite, and have competed on the open 4.2 team in Mexico in 2019. I have truly found my home with Toxic Elite Cheerleading and look forward to welcoming all athletes to this wonderful sport in a gym based on acceptance, compassion, and respect.

Hi, I'm Lisa Gemert. I currently work for Southland Transportation. I am excited to be coaching our youngest team this season, Hazard, as well as our U12 and Open teams. I have been involved with cheer for over 7 years, first as a cheer mom and then making the jump to coaching as I fell in love with the sport. I have been with Toxic Elite since the first day and have loved watching it grow from one team to six. I can't wait for season 3 and to see all the athletes learn, gain confidence, and shine!

Hey, I'm Shelby Wesner. I'm a registered nurse and proud mother of two who developed a love for cheerleading in high school. I cheered at McCoy High School for 3 years, going to provincial twice, then began volunteering to coach all-star cheerleading while in college. I coached with Stingerz All-Starz for 3 years, competed on their Open 4.2, then coached at Ultimate Cheer Fusion for 1 year, and now I am very excited to be joining the Toxic Elite family! Cheer is an amazing, unique sport that I believe everyone should try at least once!

Get to
Know Us

Toxic Elite Cheerleading started because a group of 12 athletes missed the sport enough that they were just happy to cheer again, no matter the place.  With no cheer mats or fancy equipment these determined athletes finished their first season with two first place finishes!!

Season 2 brought two more teams as we introduced a U8 and Special Abilities team to our gym, and we watched the club grow from 12 to 40 athletes, which brought more amazing performances and continued fantastic results.

Our main goal is to offer a gym in Medicine Hat that remains affordable so the sport of cheer is accessible to all who want to take part.
